A Day of Community, Connection, and Impact
On September 25, Cowlitz County Habitat for Humanity joined nonprofits across Southwest Washington for Give More 24!, a 24 hour online giving event that brings communities together to support the causes they care about most. Thanks to our generous supporters, volunteers, partners, and neighbors, this day was a wonderful celebration of connection and collective impact.
To mark the occasion, we hosted our Coffee, Donuts and Community Open House, welcoming friends old and new into our office for conversation, treats, raffle prizes, and a closer look at the work we do. From free coffee and donuts to smiling faces and meaningful conversations, the morning reflected what Habitat is all about bringing people together to build hope, homes, and community.
Because of the generosity of our donors, we are thrilled to share that we reached our Give More 24! goal of $10,000. Every gift, whether five dollars or five hundred, played a role in helping us move closer to our mission. A special thank you goes to Bob and Barbara Price for their matching donation, which doubled the impact of every dollar given and inspired others to give.
This campaign was also made possible through the support of our in kind partners and local businesses who donated coffee, donuts, raffle prizes, and promotion. Their willingness to give back helped create a welcoming and joyful space for the community. We are deeply grateful to everyone who shared our story on social media, invited a friend, or simply stopped by to learn more.
Most importantly, Give More 24! reminded us that affordable homeownership changes lives. Through Habitat’s hand up model, hardworking families earn sweat equity and purchase homes through affordable, no interest mortgages. Those mortgage payments are then reinvested to help build the next home, creating a lasting legacy of stability and opportunity in Cowlitz County.
While one day of giving has come to a close, the impact continues. The support we received will help us move forward with our future plans, including our upcoming project on Church Street. We are incredibly thankful to be part of a community that believes everyone deserves a safe place to call home.
