Exterior Home Preservation for low-income Cowlitz County homeowners
A Brush with Kindness (ABwK) program helps low-income homeowners remain in safe, well-maintained homes, especially as they age. ABwK is designed to revitalize the appearance of the neighborhood, encourage connections within the community, and help preserve affordable housing.
ABwK brings together volunteers to help with small exterior home projects such as yard cleanup, landscaping, debris removal, painting, or fence repair. Other possibilities with supporting partnerships could include ramps and rails and larger exterior projects such as porch or window repair.

How to Apply
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Cowlitz County resident
Own and occupy the home
Have homeowner's insurance
Household income at or below 65% of the Area Median Income
Demonstrated need for exterior home preservation
Planning to remain in the home
Residents 60+, Disabled, &/or US Veterans are encouraged to apply.
